06 YZ250 Lectron fitment issue

Anyone have a lectron on their yz250? I mounted everything up and the air boot hits the rear shock. I’ve researched a bit and some say to remove the reed spacer. Or some say they’ve modified the air boot. I’m running VForce 3 reeds on the bike also. Anyone know of any solutions? Thanks.

The Lectron is longer front to rear than the stock carb, correct? If so, removing the reed spacer is probably a good way to get back some of that difference. That being said, I've heard of some people saying they get reduced reed life without the spacer because the reeds might touch the inside of the cylinder more when opening. Some also say they don't like the way the bike runs as much without the spacer.

Luckily you are running vforce, since dropping the spacer with a regular Reed stopper causes the rear boost port to get blocked.

Wait until you get the lectron on there and you figure what a bitch it is to reach the choke.
