03 KX125 questions

I recently picked up a 2003 KX125 and I’m wanting to upgrade the suspension. Will newer KXF (triple clamps, forks, wheels/tires, rear shock) stuff fit? I’ve done a little research and seen people put the newer stuff on the older KX models. Just didn’t know what all was required.

Wheels, yes.

Triple clamps, yes but steering stop will be wrong spot.

Forks, yes.

Shock, i don’t think so.

So say I ordered up a set of 2015 KX250F triple clamps they would work on my 03 KX125... just have to modify the steering stop? Steering stem is the same size?

And Ricko I have checked out your 125 build and it’s sweet!

Yes you have to modify the stop. Minor welding mods. I will have a step by step thread in a month or so, as I am converting my '03. The OEM forks are really not that bad, and can be made to work well. I am converting to a "B-kit" 47mm PC fork mostly for the "cool" factor....and because of the matching PC clamps.

Did you call PC and see if they have any 125 clamps left from the small batch they did?

No I figured they sold them all by now.

BobPA: are you the one selling the kit to fit the new plastic on the older KX’s? Do you have any pics of the kit?

I am not. I am just starting a build on my 125...Check for a build thread later tonight. I will be installed 06-08 PC Kawi clamps on my bike. Rebuilding the forks tonight, then starting on the clamps either tomorrow or on the weekend.

I am actually not a fan of restyle kits,iIt makes the bike look like something it is not. Personally, the last gen Kawasaki two strokes look great to me.
