I got a good deal on a steel frame yz144. I also have a 08 yz250 with a shift shaft thrown through the cases. I was wondering if it is possible to swap the 144 motor into the 250 frame and suspension.

I know someone swapping a right hand drive KTM 500 cc 2 stroke engine. Into a 2015.5. Factory edition 250 chassis. So yes anything is possible .

What I saw wasnt just a lil 500 ... this one sported the 550 can.

I'd agree, not worth it. The '98 I rode was a sweet handling bike. Now if you could change out that suspension... especially if you're more than a buck and a quarter.
I made an 06 to 08 frame swap on my 450 and that played well.
