Anyone running a '14 or '15 yz250f with a big bore? I race +25b and +30b and would like a little more power for starts. I've seen both 269cc and 290cc kits available and was wondering if anyone has any experience with either?

Thanks for the link, a lot of good info. Also making me rethink my build as I have no access to a dyno and it's not really in the budget anyway. Was hoping to keep the motor build under $1500. Anything more than that and I will just sell my bike and buy a 450. Lol. Just for my curiosity sake, about how much do you have invested in the motor? (Not including the magura clutch )

GYTR head $1700
DCR cams $900
Genius TB $1500
Vortex ign $750
FMF exhaust $900
Hinson clutch $900
Twin Air intake $225
GYTR airboot $100
RPM big bore $700
Tuning $500

I've spent over $9k in mods. Lol.

Yeah, that is well outside my budget. Loops lIke an awe some build for sure! I'm leaning twords the cylinders works 269 kit and a set of stage 2 hot cams. Already have the twin air intake, full fmf pipe and brand new clutch. I was mostly wondering if the GYTR tuner will do what I need or if I need to go to a vortex or Tokyo mods ignition set up.

With my setup it wouldn't idle at all and the GYTR tuner doesn't allow adjustments below 3k rpm.

The GYTR head comes with GYTR cams, curious as to why you replaced them. Did the power delivery not work well with the big bore? Could have you adjusted for that using different Mappings with the GYTR tuner?

The GYTR exhaust cam is the same as the stock cam. I had heard really good things about the DCR intake cam so I bought it.

I have a set of DCr S3 cams I'll trade for a set of stock ones and $300. I'm selling my bike. I have a set of stock cams with no sprockets I'll throw in too. Text me if interested (404)966-8614

You need to just call Derrick Harris at HP Bikes tell him what you want to spend and let him go over options with you.

I was only going this route because the shop that helps me out is willing to give me parts at dealer cost. I will be doing all the wrenching myself, but I should be well under $750 for the cylinder works kit and the set of stage 2 hot cams. I just ordered the gytr tuner (wanted that anyway). As well as the gytr intake boot, interested to see what that looks like. Anyone know of a place I can dyno the bike in the Albany, NY area?

His website just recently got taken down for some reason. He said he just woke up one morning and it was down. Just give him a call. I've used him multiple times and he's really good with Yamaha's.

He ported my yz250 cylinder, and did the suspension, mapping and intake cam on my 350. I now have a 16 yz450 and when need something like that for it I'll use him.

I'm about to buy a yz250 with a eg295 kit to ride in the woods. I'll probably let him port it how he likes when it needs a rebuild.

He's also ported other friends yz 2 strokes and they love them. I've talked to him many times on the phone for long periods of time. He's a good dude.
