YZ250F Bog(Continuation)

So i had an earlier post about my carb leaking. I fixed that problem(adjusted the float tab and it stoped leaking). But now my new problem is the bog. After i put everything back together it'll just bog when i accelerate it. I need help on how to fix it. Thanks.

I would try adjusting the fuel mixture screw and it could be possible that when you adjusted the float level you over did it and went to low a level.

Take the carb back off and just check over your work. Let us know if nothing looks obviously wrong.

I did that and checked everything. Everything looks to be good. Also tried adjusting the fuel mixture screw but it's still bogging.

it might sound dumb but have you checked the fuel valve to make sure it flows properly?

The fuel valve is working properly. I think the problem is what you said earlier that when i adjusted the float tab it went to low of a level but if i don't put it low it will leak so bad. So im really stressing on this.

Could this be an accelerator pump issue?? Pull the little cover and adjust the pump, at least to factory spec. Not sure about this bike, but a lot of guys actually tweak the pump quite differently from the stock.

I can't help but ask if you double checked the float height measurement. If that carb has a leak jet, you might also want to remove it and make sure it's clear.

I dont think it's a accelerator pump issue becuase before i adjusted the float level so i wouldn't leak it wasn't bogging. Then when i put the float tab a little back where it was it'll leak. So it's like whatever i do i still have a problem.

If you bent the float tab more than a 1/4 -1/2 MM I'm betting you now have too low a float level which would cause a lean condition. Re set your floats to the factory recommended settings and try again.

piece of crap in your fuel line? Did you just play with your petcock to make sure it worked? Pull the gas line off of the carb and make sure gas runs freely out of it

I'm thinking i'm going to need a new carb. I've checked everything fuel line,float needle,adjusted the float tab in any way you can and it still bogs. It'll stop bogging for a little then after a while it just starts bogging again. Is there anything else i can do before buying a new carb?

You never need a new carb. They are expensive,and unless physical damage has been done to it ,it's ok. I don't remember how old your bike is,but the rubber cup on the accelerator pump does wear out. I would take the pet cock off the tank and rinse it to be sure there is not any dirt or crap in there. Then just get a new float and needle seat,and new gaskets for the carb. Sometimes the float will absorb gas inhibiting it's proper movement..Get the xcell pump cup too. As the other gentleman said,set it all up to stock specs. It's a basis and a starting point.He gave good info. My best guess is that you got some crap in there and damaged the float needle seat,and you have adjusted the float to compensate for that,but there is not enough fuel to run the bike. Re-think,and go slow. The fix is cheap. Don't buy a carb. Clean the tank,clean the pet cock on it,replace the parts I mentioned,adjust it properly,and your problem will go away.
