Hey guys just rebuilt a 97 yz 125. Had the motor rebuilt and just about everything else on it. It's runs pretty good. But I can't figure the idle out. Do you adjust idle when the bike is cold or warm? Because if I do it when it is warm when the bike cools down , and I start it , it revs at high rpms. Is it a jetting issue? Pro circuit recommends a 45 pilot and the one in it now is a 50... It also seems to bog heavily when shifting into first and trying to go from a dead stop. If it's just a 125 thing, excuse my ignorance. My first bike was a cr250 and Ive only ridden big bikes since. I thought I would work on "the basics" with buying a 125.

Story over,

Any knowledge is appreciated.

Check for intake air leaks...and yes, 125's are a bit gutless at low rpm's.
What does the spark plug tip color look like? Brown, Grey, Black or White?

I adjust my 04 KX125 when the motor is warm. I used Pro Circuit for my jetting, and it runs great. Why, if they recommend a 45 pilot, did you use a 50 pilot? 125-Pin IT!

Turns out paw paw it was a small air leak. I may have reused an old intake gasket(from the reeds to the cylinder) ... I replaced it, and it's been running like a brand new bike. Thank your for your reply.
