2015 ktm 250sx. I used to buy pro x on my 125 but I'm thinking about just going oem also what is the compression usually? I just want to freshen the bike up. Only 30 hrs on it

I'd go with Vertex as well for the KTM's. 30 hours is a quite a bit for a top end... I would replace it either way.

Yeah it's time for one I think. I mean it hasn't lost any power but rather be safe than having it blow up.

Exactly. Bikes always seem to run better than ever right before they destroy themselves.

Gonna order me the c clipper tool and put a piston in next week. (The c clipper tool is a tool that pops the circlips in for you)

Yes, Vertex is stock for KTM. Here's a tip though: If you buy it in the grey box (from Vertex itself), it should be roughly $20-$30 cheaper than the orange (KTM OEM) box, even though they are exactly the same.

Actually the Pro x's are made by ART (stock yamaha) All the above are great quality pistons. The wisco's are forged high performance pistons and have a longer life span, there just better made due to being forged. Cast are fine as long as you stay within 50 hrs.

You can make any piston fit tighter tolerances: depends on who is doing to the boring and matching. I prefer forged pistons myself, but if you don't know what you're doing you can cold seize them. Forged pistons expand more than cast, forged piston stronger than cast, etc.

Go with OEM, if you use something else, you'll have problems. The only time you shouldn't use an OEM piston is when it's been bored.
