What kind of oil are you guys running in your bikes? Been hearing lots of things about running 10w60 over the recommended 10w50

I suggest Shell Rotella T6 5w40. I use it in every thing I own. Cars, trucks, generators and bikes. It stays clean and works very well in everything including wet clutches.
Of course, everyone has a different oil they would suggest.

Heard of too many bad stories with the rotella, but there is quite a few people who swear by it.

Cant go wrong with any motorcycle specific oil.

Pick one.

Change it often.

Maxima Extra4 10w40 is what i like. They make a 10w60.

I have been using this oil from the day it was introduced. I run it in my car, truck, motorhome RV, 4 generators, 3 lawn mowers and 2 motorcycles and it is a very good product.
So , I am not sure about the "bad stories" you are talking about.

I have a 2015 SXF, and I run Amsoil 10-50 with the orange cap. Price is decent and when my son pulled sand through his filter at a sand race, my ENGINE GUY asked what oil I use because the seal was really good so no sand went into his bottom end. FYI (We run a pre filter when we race at that track now!!!!!) $$$$$$ OUCH

I just hit 75 hours on my 16 250 SX-F with standard Rotella 15-40. Did a piston and checked valves at 50 hours, no issues.

Ran it in my last 3 KTM's with zero problems. I change the oil every 3-4 hours. Rotella is cheap enough that I don't mind doing it often.

You are going to get 100 different opinions. The guy who builds my engines, also works with top racers in the industry and says if you are changing your oil often they all work the same.

I've heard race teams using Rotella oil inside the team sponsors oil jugs...

Hinson guys told me to run Maxima.

Rekluse suggests Rotella.

I've been using the white jug standard 10-30.

Like I wrote above, I change it every 3-4 rides or 4 hours. I'm going to pick up my engine this week. Hit 75 hours on a 2015.5 250sx-f. Just had the whole thing rebuilt from bottom to top. If they still have the wear parts, I'll post photos.
