I go through a lot of bikes. So I always buy like 10 of the $5 hour meters at a time off eBay. They work great.

They have some brackets for mounting them on eBay too for like $6. They also work good depending on the bike.

Question is, the meters don't come with the double sided tape. What would be the best kind of tape to buy off amazon? Thinking some kind of 3M.

I got a roll of some kind of double sided tape but Iran not sticky at all...

Look for a tape called VHB. It stands for Very High Bond and has a crazy rating of weight it can hold.

Velcro strips. Used em for years. Cut them down to fit the length of the hour meter and the other strip somewhere on the neck of the frame, triple clamps, etc.. never had one come off yet, and you can take the hour meter on/off again easily.

I have just always used what ever silicone that I have around my shop. But only when I am sticking it to my frame, and has to be a flat part of frame.

Went with a 10 pack of like 1 1/2 x 2 inch squares for like $8 off amazon.

What ever go pro uses would be good.

I'll try the silicone too.

I use nylon zip ties if the hour meter has a hole in it.

On one of my GET hour meter's I didn't clean the frame well enough so the included double sided tape didn't stick.

So I put a 3M Command strip on it between the existing tape and the frame. 2.5 years later no problems.

3M industrial strength Velcro from Walmart. Mine hasn't budge in 21 hours.

Most of the tapes you try are going to be stronger than you need if you prep it right.
Make sure to wipe it with alcohol prior application. Lack of good prep will ensure failure
of the bond.
