I have a heavy clear oil on my rear shock and engine. I purchased a 09 KX250f, I know never buy a used 250 4 stroke. I race against the dealer, and he felt the engine was very solid. Some of us don't want to spend 5k or 6k+. I am reworking and will make it mine. I will be using Pro Circuit for my rebuilds/valving. Thanks for your help.

Most likely shock oil. Your engine oil will have some color to it.

If you lose very much shock oil the rear suspension will be like a pogo stick. No damping.
