Hey everyone, I am recently getting my first pit bike of my own. Im a decent pit bike rider but I see a lot of the big riders riding in shoes. My question is do they ride with ankle support and just risk a foot injury?

I have ridden plenty of times in boots and it has been uncomfortable sometime and then not so bad the others. Does anyone have any preferences?

Thanks

When we race and ride big tracks, I always were my full riding gear. Knee braces, Alpinestar boots, chest protectors etc etc. When playing around on smaller slower backyard tracks with the kids etc, I have a pair of Thor pitbike boots that offer good protection but better mobility. Never ride in tennis shoes though as that is how you can easily hurt ankles and feet.

Here are two photos from the Millville Pitbike race.

Willie B races in tennis shoes which is surprising because he has to race the national the next day and I feel he is risking a lot without the support.

I on the other hand as you can see cannot put on enough protective gear. Better safe than sorry.
