I have been using disposable. I have used both Stock and K&N.

Scott's re-usable for me on my 06' CRF 450. Over 200 hours on it with no issues.

Use the Pro Flow one's they carry at Cycle Gear. They are the exact same filter as in the K&N box and about 3 dollars cheaper.

Honda certainly doesn't manufacture those filters....

so why would you pay extra for a filter just to get the Honda logo on the box??

For the record, I use a Scott's.

You never get re-usable filters completely clean, it's impossible to go wrong with an oem fliter.

Ugh. You guys are making me feel bad. I've been a disposable guy for years until my buddy convinced me to go stainless/reusable. Bought a Filtron and about to start using it.

Same here that's why I asked. I change oil after almost every ride and between the oil and filters it's about $10 a change on two bikes.

The reason to use OEM Honda parts is because Honda beats the hell out of their vendors with regard to quality control. There is zero quality control on the aftermarket side.

Cam, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Honda produces their own oil filters. They're buying the things from a supplier (just like several others) and tagging them as Honda parts.

I imagine there's someone that can confirm this....

Same for their lubricants as well.

I'm with Cameron.

Cam is right.

I've been involved in OEM products... they beat you up on price... then make sure the quality is better than they specified in the original quote.

That's why the price is higher.. OEM's test test test.. then test some more.

A SS filter may actually make more HP. I'll test that this summer... but it is true they are hard to clean thoroughly.
