I just replaced front and rear brake lines on my 2006 RM250 and cannot get them to build pressure at the lever and pedal. I get fluid thru the bleeder screw but will not build up pressure Any ideas what is going on? Was told that I might need to use a vaccume bleeder to get all the air out but I'm not sure.

Sounds like you have air in the line. A vacuum bleeder is super easy to use . You can buy one at the auto parts store. Worth every penny!

If you bleed the system with no type of bleeding tool like Joe mentioned, something that helps is you need to get the caliper/bleed screw above the master cylinder when bleeding, take the caliper off, sliding a piece of metal (around the thickness of your rotor) in it, and continue the bleed process.

Its hard to push air down, so raising the bleed screw above master cylinder while also tapping the brake line with a wrench will help get those bubbles out.

I have taken a small syringe, filled with fluid, with hose that fits snug on the bleeder screw, loosened banjo fittings and back bled system. a cheaper route than the vacuum bleeder if you have a syringe lying around. I had one from the pharmacy that came with the kids allergy medicine. The vacuum bleeder is the hot setup and I think less than $30

I used the syringe method and it worked perfect. Thanks

You can also bleed at the banjo fittings. This is where the air is normally at in the system. Start at the Master an back to the caliper.
