I have recently bought a cr250 -06 and I want to upgrade the suspension. I have a a-kit fork already but I have a hard time finding a used shock. Is there any other shock that will fit with some minor modifications? I've seen some bikes with the late models crf shock but I don't know if they work as they should, and in the end better than my original shock?

Send your current shock to a reputable suspension company to get it set up for you. I think it's unnecessary to mod a newer one to fit and mess with the ergonomics considering cr250s were the best handling 2 strokes.

As long as the length is correct there is nothing to worry about.

What Jake said, the rear suspension is right as rain. If you really feel it is nessesary you could do some DLC on the shaft or some hard anodsizing of the body. MB1 set mine up with a rebuild and revalve and it works great
