i have a 14 sx with 140 hours on it, started happening at around 120. The forks will slide up in the clamps. I have the inside free of any debris and i torque them to spec with a wrench that is also in spec. Is anyone else having this issue?

I've just had this start happening and did some reading online, few other cases–seems some people said they needed to give the forks/inside of the clamps a good clean with some contact cleaner....

Going to give it a try before tomorrow.

My 11's have been fine. I've had the forks off about 3 times and never had them move.

Wonder if your upper clamp could be a little off-center from the lower clamp?

Do you lubricate the bolts before applying the torque? Are you confident you are receiving the proper torque from your torque wrench?

You can get false torques from dry, sticking bolts. I always like to ensure the threads are 100% and then apply a small amount of assembly grease to the bolts. Provides a very smooth and consistent feel.

I also re-torque each bolt a second time after tightening the last fastener to ensure all are properly seated.

A buddy just brought in his personal torque wrenches from home into work. We have a calibrated tester. To his surprise the one he uses the most was 15ft lbs heavy! Meaning set at 0, he was getting 15. His other was 5 ft lbs light.

Even 5 ft lbs light on those pinch bolts would cause a problem like you are having. Assuming they are still 17nm and 12nm?

When I torque mine, I constantly go back and forth because with parallel pinch bolts, each "lean" on each other and can affect the torque values.

My suggestions is to get get your torque wrench checked and calibrated. Then like mxtech1 suggested to grease/anti-seize threads, no grease on end of bolt or in the hole.
