There are 2 choices for Gold Valve on the fork of the KTM 85SX, the FMGV2820 and the FMGV2820G, I've emailed Racetech 3 times now asking for clarification on the differences but haven't gotten a response. Any of you guys know what are the differences between these 2 products? As a potential new customer this makes me question their customer service.

I would try calling if you can. I have always been impressed with their service when I called.

Thanks for the responses.
So for the additional $10 the FMGV2820G sounds like the wiser choice.

Im a Race Tech dealer in MN and in my experience the Type 1 standard gold valves seem to work better for Motocross. I can consitantly get a plusher feel without running into dive or bottoming issues. Both good valves, for motocross I would run the type 1. just my $.02

Thanks, much appreciated. I did receive an email reply from Christie at Racetech stating pretty much the same.

I just saw this thread. Please let me know if you need anything further - my email is chris@racetech.com. I'd rather not post it here, but my cell number is on the bottom of any email I reply to and you're more than welcome to use that for any questions as well.

As was stated above, in most cases recently we're using the Type 1 valve for Motocross applications. The G2-R is preferred by many "garage tuners" as it's a bit more flexible with more options in tuning; however, we've developed the Type 1 with our R&D department's specific requests.

Don't forget, there is a VitalMX discount for all members here when ordering and everything Race Tech does is 100% guaranteed. If you aren't completely impressed with the results, please let me know and we'll make sure we get you dialed in.

Thanks Chris. How much is the discount and is it only available if we order direct?

The discount is 20% off, and yes, direct only.

I do see you're in Canada, because of their costs getting parts across the border I doubt I can get my RT Center up there to do 20% off, but I'm sure I can talk him into hooking you up with 10% if you'd rather order through him.
