Honda steering dampener on RM

Anyone have any experience fabing up a mount for a honda steering dampener on a 01 up RM? Im sure it can be done, I was thinking it would be cool to do, but wanted to get some insight before i dropped 100 bucks to get one and it end up sitting in my garage forever...

Need a bottom clamp with the mount and will have to relocate the cdi unit. Similar to what ride engineering does for the rmz model. I'm sure it can be done. I just run my sag at 105 and tighten down a bit on steering stem bearings and she myself the trouble lol

Just tighten down a little bit on the steering step and 1 click softer on top Smile

Haha yeah as far as necessity goes it's pretty low down on the list. But it would be super cool to have just because

Unless you get the steering damper revalved it's worthless. Get it revalved and it's awesome. Cost you another $100 for the revalve.

you dont need a bottom clamp.. just drill and tap your bottom triple. Thats what I did for my kx250f. If you CDI mounts to the steering neck just fab a plate and mount the damper to it, if not you'll have to weld a piece of bar stock onto the headtube.

I don't think my oem is worthless.. have never ridden a revalved one tough. But it works for sure Smile
