I had someone replace a fork seal and they jacked up the Dampning rod. Suzuki wants me to buy a whole new cartridge that I can't afford. It's a 2008 RMZ 450 12.5 rod.

Thanks.

Call around to some different high volume suspension shops. Enzo, Factory Connection, Race Tech. KYB doesn't sell just the rod either it's a pain in the ass. The high volume shops might have something they can sell you.

First...what makes you think you need a new rod? I am assuming there are plier marks?

I am pretty sure they are about $125 new. What sucks for you is I just sold the last used one I had laying around for $50...

Scarred it, Cut it , and rethread it. it's a half an inch shorter. Nice huh?

From what you have posted about the mechanics working on your bike, I would not let them work on an anvil. Some people have no business picking up a wrench.

Awesome! You would think that would be unbelievable to me..but at this point the things I have seen go beyond even that (but not by much)

Dude, if you ever need anything done just send it to me. I'll give you a Vital short bus discount. $50 fork rebuild(+parts) and you will never ever have to worry about anything going wrong beyond normal wear and crashes.

Matt. I would've and obviously shoud've but I was in a pinch and had to get it done for the weekend. Shipping charges on suspension and motors have killed me over the years.
