Anyone do the 'putting the bike in a high gear while holding the rear brake' method to lock up the motor. The bike is a 15' 250sx if anyone knows another way to lock the motor up. Thanks in advance

Could you get a strap wrench around the flywheel? They are pretty inexpensive.

I second the lockup tool very cheap and easy. The rope trick that is mentioned doesn't sit well with me, I have the same bike and tried it and it didn't work great and I was worried about getting fibers from the rope all up in the engine.

The lock up tool would be ideal, but I was going to try to get it done this weekend so unless advance auto carries one I may be out of luck. The strap wrench may be another option as I'm sure the parts store would carry one. The option I'm leaning towards would be to cut the end off of my cleanest bungy cord and use it as the rope method.

Edit: also thanks for all the suggestions!
