I can buy a new 08 Honda or a new 09 honda. 08 is 6485 09 6785. It looks like JS is puttin it to the fuel injected crowd. Is hot starting the real issue or is a fuel injected bike just a gimmick?

I love my fuel injected Honda. The handling is what I like best about it! She turns on a dime! One thing with the fuel injection, is you never have to worry about that hiccup in certain throttle applications. Power is always there, and always consistent. One thing I did do to my bike was have the suspension revalved by RG3. The suspension was a little weird in stock form.

After owning a fuel injected RMZ I never want to fool with a carb again. I can't wait for the 250f s to be fuel injected.

I am surprised that people have carb issues. I have had zero problems setting up any of the 4 CRF 450's I have had. Once set up for where you ride it is pretty much a set it and forget it situation.

In a 150-200 mile circumference I have rarely had to change anything with mine.... so with that, I don't really know how much better EFI is?

I don't think EFI is a gimmick, but on the carb bikes if your racing nationals or even CMC pro you want to get all you can performance wise. So take your jets with you. If you ride the junior class or even intermediate class and the bike runs clean it will put out more power than you can use anyway so it not that big a deal as long as it runs cleanly and no bogs.

If they kept producing CR250R's and added fuel injection I dont think I'd ever go back to carb or even jump over to the high maintenance four stroke craze. Imagine say a CR300R, fuel injection and electric start! Forget the 450's if you had one of those.

That is too much for an '08. Call Teri at Van Wall, Indianola, IA.
Tell her Jim Johnson heard she had some at a better price.

yeah with fuel injected bikes they are a hell of alot more responsive than carby bikes, flooding the bike is all gone and sarting is as easy as pie

if you can afford a brand new 2009 FEI bike go for it much be 08 with a carby

Bullshit.... Both the KX and CRF EFI are hit and miss when it comes to starting. The Honda that I spent the day on would start in 2 kicks one time and then 20 the next.... Using the exact same procedure. The KX was not as bad as it would usually fire by the 4th kick but compared to any of the carb CRF's that I have had it was not any better.

As for throttle response, I'll agree that the precision of EFI in a wide range of conditions would be better if you never changed a jet on the carb version.

I just picked up a 2009 YZ450 LE for $5326 OTD... so for at least 1 more year I will be playing with brass while everyone gets EFI dialed in.
