Where the best place to get a complete wheel set that's good quality? I don't want the tusk or wrap 9 junk but don't wanna spend a grand on a set.

Either spend the money on the good stuff or get stuck with the lower quality stuff. Or get used. You get what you pay for!

faster usa has a set that will be 800-900 I believe. I ended up getting A-60s so mine were more but I'd recommend them.

+1 Faster USA is quality stuff at a fair price. I bought the Excel Takasago rims and they were ~950 delivered with tax in California.

I've got kite hubs/DID ST-x wheels but they were by no definition of the word, cheap. Personally, I think a set of tusk wheels is the best deal out there if you like the color of the hubs for your bike (you can't customize them). Every review I've ever read has had nothing but good things to say about them, including MXA. My buddy just got a set and they're very nice. And they're $550/set

I can second that motion, my buddy has a set of the TUSK wheels on his bike and they are pretty damn sweet and seem to have held up some pretty good OJ'S so far.

Rebuilding your stock wheelset is an option. Should be around 500$ for excels + spokes. Stock hubs are good and getting them powdercoated is cheap and makes them look cool.

Can you give us a little more info on these? What brand are the hubs or who makes them? Same for the spokes. Thanks.

Hubs: You have two options Pro Wheel Hubs or what he says is his hub Italian made hub. (Warp 9 or NFI based on my comparison) Either way your getting a quality hub. (The only quality thing Pro Wheel produces IMO) Pro Wheel definitely looks cooler when comparing machining, but your required to use their wheel spacers. His Hub (Whatever it may be) uses stock everything so if you lose a spacer they're easy enough to find a spare at the races or your dealer. Still a good lightweight hub that looks good. His hubs are pictured.

Spokes: He says he uses Excel Spokes exclusively. Could be Pro Wheel or Warp9 as well, but they're not a real HD Gauge Spoke found on WARP9, but definitely a little heavier than stk. These are the first couple sets I've done with him, but I know a couple guys that have been running his wheels for a couple years and have had ZERO issues. Check them periodically as with any spoke and they will be fine. He also says if you have an issue to contact him. He stands behind his product.

Final summation: Well built wheels. Good Hubs. Good spokes. Top shelf Rims. Awesome $$$ For little more than TUSK where you get Chinese hubs spokes rims. Junk. You could buy the same wheels direct from china on Ebay FYI for less than RockyMountain. Far and away superior to TUSK (but that's not hard) Hub wise maybe not quite the quality of a Talon, RAD, KITE etc, but at least 30% cheaper. If you want quality I would recommend these for the $$$.

Are Pro Wheel hubs really made in the USA? Or do they get shipped from China, final assembly done in the USA and slapped with a made in USA sticker?

Just asking, I know that sort of thing happens a lot in other industries.

I want to say actually made in the USA and their rims and spokes are imported out of China. I'll have to make a few contacts with a couple guys that would know. Your right though......hard to tell these days and by what definition are you going by when you say made in the USA.

Not even close in quality and build, nfi hubs are way better in any way than warp . Try a rad, talon, pro platinum ,haan hub .get what ya pay for.
