If you go with an o-ring chain...I would use a DID o-ring chain as it is about the strongest on the market. Just clean, no oil needed except on the center rollers for the sprockets. I have had very long life without issues for many years using them.

Just go with a DID or Renthal 520 race chain. I have both and it seems the DID stretches faster than the renthal. A o-ring chain is too big and heavy for a 125.

I agree with hbdesigns, go with the Renthal race chain, O ring chains drag way to much power out of a 125.

If you go with an O-ring on a 125, you will get extremely good life, but it does cause drag. Depending on how sensitive a rider you are, some riders can feel the drag, and others cannot.

I would go with a non o-ring, but lube it pretty much every time you put fuel in the bike. Any non o-ring chain in the $60 to $100 range will be a great one. I'd personally put the Renthal R1 or DID ERT2 on it, or any high end EK or RK or Tsubaki.

And a side note, you can't just pick a chain by the lbs rating on it. You can have a chain with 8000 lb rating but with a wear index of 300. If you wanna get all techy about it, look up the wear index on the chain. It will be 100 to 1000. Most 520 o-ring chains (or X, or U, or W, or H ring chains), even crappy ones, are around the 500 to 800 range. Most non sealed chains will have a rating from a crappy 100 to a really good rating of around 500 to 600.

Quick, someone get on google and look up the wear index of a DID ERT2 chain and a Renthal 520 non o-ring chain. I'm too lazy.

I've used the Renthal R1 (non o-ring) chains on my RMZ 450 and RM 250 for years and I have had great luck. I replace them once a year which is about 20 hours of riding.
