Wanting to update my mapping to the 2017 specs. No one in my area does this. Looking for someone who can do this update.

Thanks, Tom

What problem or condition are you trying to improve on? I have a 16 KX450 and a KX calibration tool. That tool costs a little less than a pipe but has the potential to give you double the "butt dyno" power increase of a pipe.

Remap at Tokyo mods. Or spend the $$, buy a vortex ecu. Best money spent.

A remap from Tokyo, a Vortex ECU and the Kawi tool were the 3 options that I considered as well. In the end, I went with the KX tool. A TM remap is by far the least expensive but you're stuck with what they give you and I wanted the flexibility to change it for weather and track conditions. Also, a few guys in this area who have had it done say that the performance is a huge upgrade over stock but it still pops. I don't have a ton of confidence in a map designed on a dyno across the country in a totally different climate. The Vortex was a bit more than the Kawi tool for me (I get a nice discount at my local dealer. The KX tool was $575ish) and even though it was plug and play with several good maps, you don't have the ability to adjust the ignition from what I can see and you only have a limited amount of fuel trim adjustments with the low/mid/hi external screws. In the end, the Kawi tool gave me the most flexibility. I have a pretty good understanding of fuel and ignition curves so I was able to dial in a really nice map for my combo with zero decel pop pretty quick. I programmed a buddy's bike who has the exact same set up as me and runs the same fuel and he was impressed with the performance gains and how clean it ran.

does anyone know if the most current part number for the KAWI tool works on older models? Ive seen a few come up for sale on line pretty cheap but the part number is off from the one in my 2011 owners book.

It will not work on the 2011 kawy 450.

I have a 2011 kx250f and see them pop up on amazon from time to time under $300 but the part numbers are slightly off.
