Last summer my bike seized up, so I figured why not rebuild the whole thing? Well I just got started on the assembly. I'll be posting photos of my progress throughout the build. Won't be anything too crazy, mainly just a stocker rebuild with a few trick parts here and there. well, here we go!

Been putting in work on this ol beater to bring it back to life! Carb rebuild, scotch Brite pads to all the aluminum. Looks clean. Got some parts comin in. Plastics, Cables, Bars, Levers, Tires, etc. Also should be ordering a crank, piston, and complete gasket set this weekend. it's looking really good! What's your guys take on powder coating rims? I've got a guy who can do it for me, I just wanna know if it'll hold up. Any Input is helpful.

Also, (not related to the bike) picked up a nice new Husky 27" tool box last night. Super stoked on that.

I powder coated my rims and used an old bike tube on my levers to minimize damage when installing tires. So far so good - I will see how it holds up when riding - ultimately I will be re-lacing my wheels with new hoops next year anyway, but it is a short term cost effective solution for wheels that are thrashed.

By chance would you have any idea how much that would cost?

As it sits now. Will be putting new MX 52's on this week. Waiting on a cam chain, main bearings, and a piston. Once they come in ill have the motor back in the bike.

Before you button the engine up, be sure to check the oil drain plug threads. These bikes have a real history of the threads going bad. Easier to fix now than after the engine is together back in the bike.

Looks great. Maybe get some new carb vent hose if you're going for the brand new bike look.

I have an 05 I'm parting out. It has a nice set of black rims that would really make your bike. Message me.

Picked up a MSR Hard Parts clutch perch and lever. Very pleased with it. Pulls in like a dream with all new lubed cables. I like the feel of this lever. it's more rounded where I grip it.
