Hi I just bought lucas oil semi-synthetic s-cycle oil, it is low ash and smokeless, is that ok to put into my ktm 105sx? I will mix it 40:1. Also what kind of radiator coolant do I put in the bike? Do I use a special kind or can I just use the normal rad coolant , that my dad would put in his car? And according to the manual I am supposed to mix it with water (50%). Is all this right? Oh and what kind of gearbox oil do you recommend? Thanks allot and sorry for all the noob questions
Use coolant that is aluminum compatible (most are now) but there are some motorcycle specific coolants that work well. (Engine Ice comes to mind) If you are using straight coolant, mix it 50/50 with DISTILLED water only. Tap water is no good.
I've had great luck with Bel Ray gear saver in my dirt bikes and my street bikes but there are other products that Im sure would work just as well. Just be sure to use a motorcycle specific trans oil. While regular motor oil will suffice, I feel the the extra protection of m/c specific oils are worth the added cost.
Your 105 is an expensive, highly tuned race machine so why skimp on it's lifes blood? Buy the good stuff and stick to it!!

To the OP, I use Bel-ray in my tranny. I also just bought some of the Lucas stuff you said and have been running it. Does it say s-cycle or 2-cycle? Mine says 2-cycle.
Distilled water is purified and is the only thing you should use. It's only a couple of dollars per gallon and is available at most hardware stores.
Are you on a well for your water source?
Any quality brand 2 stroke oil will work but read their label for the recommended mixing ratio.
I have been running Golden Spectro @ 50:1 for 20+ years and have never had a motor blow up. Replaced the stock still good crank in my 01 YZ250 last year with over 2000 hours on it. Spectro is good stuff!
BelRay 80W in the 2 stroke trans.
is to shange and clean airfilter often .

Hope this helps
