First KX450 Ride

Edited Date/Time 1/26/2012 2:47pm
Just got off the 85's after Daytona SX this spring. Too big for the mini's. Rode a 2008 KX450F at the track last week for the first time. At a rider weight of 115 lbs, I'm thinking this beast can show a young rider the way on the big bikes. Got to be managed correctly. But lots of fun to ride for a change of pace. Check it out. You're way too small and weak for a 450. It's pretty easy to see that just by watching how that bike kicks your ass. You're just along for the ride. I'm not bashing you, just telling you how someone else sees it.

What you need is a 125.

We agree with you. We were going to have the big bike re-sprung last week. we know it too heavy and stiff. That's way he rode it half speed in the vid otherwise he was going to get hucked off.

We do got and 125 and a 250 2x Both are set-up and race ready. Haven't been on them very long. Still getting the feel. Here's my first few rides on these bikes

Mountain MX
Practice at G-Bull's
Chattanooga MX

As you can see, it's a work in progress. Thanks for the comments and keep calling it as you seeit.

He looks more at ease on the 125... riding IT rather than the 450 riding the kiddo.

That's way he rode it half speed in the vid otherwise he was going to get hucked off. Hey wait just a darn minute here.....

My 20 year old was about the same weight two years ago. He is an A rider, with 3 years experience on a 250F.

He didn't like the 250F's, and wanted to try my 450. We had the suspension done for his weight, and he did have some fun. The bike was too powerfull for someone of his size. He's been on a 250 2 stroke the past couple seasons, and loves them.

The big bikes are fun right up until you get just a little sideways, then they aren't much fun anymore....

But you're son is 20, with a lot more strength. If this kid would have tried to ride that 450 on a rough track it would have been ugly. If he gets out of control, he will just be along for the ride, and that 450 will F you up in a hurry. Get a 125 kid and then work your way up to a 250f.

If youre looking for more constructive criticism. Youre resume is damn near impossible to read.
You have No Fear listed as a sponsor, but youre wearing Oneal in your latest race video
MXPrints is one of your sponsors, but none of your jerseys in your video are numbered
You have sunstar and vortex as sponsors, how does that work out?

Chattanooga? Daryl still running that place? I'm surprised it wasn't under water.
Stick to the 125 in your case less is more. Just coming of 85's and at your size you can't ride a 125 at it's full potential yet why in the world would you even consider a 450?

Why not a KTM 900 duke or 540sx? Smooth little bikes. Perfect for novice riders like you Aaron. NOT! Tell your father that it is dangerus with MX sometimes and total wrong skill, size etc makes it deadly for no reason than your fathers showoff. Tell him that nice little kids isn't on sale at K-mart. And that he just lost his son-drivinglicense due to stupid behavior. When he brings you a propersized bike he will recive a new license in the Cornflakespackage. Or Santa bring it. Ok?
