Hello,

I Am Darren and i own a 1979 Yamaha yz250.
I have the original 250 engine with correct Numbers but the engine is broken and almost unfixeble...

So i can buy a complete Yamaha yz125 engine (1987)for €375 euro’s and i am considering to put this engine on my yz250,

I think the 125 is faster then the 250 beqause Its LC and younger

Closest translation = Slager . Hack is slang term for (Butcher) (Jackleg) (Cobbler)

A hack? Idk what that means Im from holland

It would be like if you had a leak in a dam and you patch the hole with bubble gum instead of hydraulic cement

Yes, it is possible to do that, but only if you paint every part black.
Just a joke!

What is broken on the engine?
Its better to repair then turn the bike to a bastard.

Are you sure that isn't a 1980 ? I thought the 79 had the enclosed rear shock.

That looks like a G model. Single down tube frame for side port exhaust, "open" shock mounting. That is for sure a G model tank on that bike.
