Working on getting 30 years of slop out of my rear brake pedal. I can replace the bushing but I'm still left with wear on the cast iron pin the bushing rides on. Anyone have any tips on rebuilding or improving on the OEM pivot design? I was thinking of a stainless steel sleeve to go over the entire pivot area and then have a bushing ID made for the new sleeve. Thoughts?

Could you cut the old shaft off and replace it with a new one that threads in?
Oilite bronze makes the best bushing material.

Maby you can take material off in a lathe so the pivotshaft is smoothe, and make a new bushing
