Just got done watching the whole series. If you'd have spent another $100, (specifically on brakes) I'd think that bike would have been at least close to the top out there. (Side note - How the heck do you let a complete seat off a barn find YZ125 blow off on the highway?)

Not bad! She’ll clean up nicely and looks like it won’t take much.

My recently acquired 96 XR400R. Someone installed a later model red tank on it, so I went ahead with matching fenders. This one has a street legal title, so it was hard to pass up. I’m working on adding street equipment now. I wish I had a better picture, but this will have to do for now.

After racing 125 2-strokes the past two years, I decided to try something a little...different.. for 2020. Today was my first ride on a bike that started life as a 1980 XR500, and it was an absolute blast.

I owned a brand new 1979 XR500R and raced it for one season (Enduro and Harescrambles). One of the worst bikes I ever owned.

Of course sliding that motor into a real chassis and losing the 23" front wheel in the process will do wonders.

Finally got a picture of the XR400, and my good friend’s recently acquired 86 XL600R out in nature today.

Jump over to the xr250 section on TT. There are a couple XR wizzes over there who continually check in and answer any and all questions. Tons of insight over there .... technically.

Did you get your cable routing sorted out? If not, my friend has the OEM service manual if you need a picture of that page.

That looks good. Is that a 92-96 CR250 Chassis? Frame looks like an XR frame but definitely CR body and forks.
