Hi all! I've decided to finally create a thread on my build. I'm a friend of Chucks so expect a lot of updates.
The plan is to build a works Jeff Emig 97 or Sebastian Tortelli 98 SR 250 replica. I have parts that both riders may have used/raced with.
I started collecting parts February 2015 and before I knew it I now have a lot of the parts.
Jeff Emig 1997

Jeff Emig 1997
Sebastian Tortelli 1998
Works KYB suspension
Magnesium clamps
Undecided on which pipe - Full cone the Jan de Groot team used or half/half Emig used
270mm khi front disc
Carbon Kevlar silencer
I have so much more but that's just to give you an idea..
Currently waiting to receive a khi front hub in the next week or so..
I still need a khi carbon bash plate, khi water pump guard & magnesium khi axle blocks.
Once I get a frame the teams used it can start to be put together.
I have so many people to thank, I will make a list when the builds finished of everyone.
I have the plastic kit you will need. It's for sale if you want it.

EvoMX has an incredible set of replica Team Kawasaki US graphics and seat cover. I had two of them but sold them. I've never seen the authentic graphics for sale and they would probably be in rough shape anyway. I had the authentic MXA seat cover for the U.S. team bike but just sold it.
Dirk in Holland has many of the KHI engine cases inner and outer, water pump cover, etc.
Luka in Italy has the carbon fiber frame guards, rear brake caliper guard, front brake line guard, and the bash plate.
I spent 18 months looking for the Works Connection aluminum engine case guard, but came up empty. Other than scams.
The Shop
I have all magnesium casings, acerbis plastics etc etc. (Although I do need a flo green acerbis rad scoops - currently have UFO ones if you know of any?)
Dirk has helped a lot with the parts along with many more people. I can't thank them enough!
I also only have my heart set on genuine NOS MXA Emig seat cover & NOS FX graphics. I suffer from the same anorak disease as chuck..
Would Luka have khi bash plate? I have the rest of the carbon.
Yeah it's a very untrustworthy world which ruins it for everyone who can be trusted.
Khi works Pegs
Titanium chain adjuster bolts - it's all about the details
I want an earlier 90's KX250, but the Emig KX's are sick!
You definitely have way more trick parts laying around than I could ever imagine finding.
Im also building a 2000 Travis Pastrana machine which has taken over 3 years so far that will probably finish in 2020 haha. So if anybody are reading this, I need works Suzuki parts - rear wheel, discs (slotted holes), gear lever, callipers, magnesium casings etc, I have a collection of parts including the 'almost impossible' to find suspension. I'll post a thread on that in the future..
Luka told me he could make the bash plate. I didn't order one from him because I thought I had one but I was scammed. Luka also has the carbon fiber chain guide the U.S. team used. I got one from him but sold it once by project blew up.
I settled on PC pegs that I was going to sandblast for the works look. That's not in the same league was the real deal.
Yeah I missed out on a Emig seat cover that was on eBay not long ago. I will find another one day no doubt. Just a matter of being patient.
I also have the carbon covers the US bikes used & the boyesen cover Tortelli used.
I would go to Luka for a replica but I would kick myself for not getting a correct genuine one.
Question - What Bridgestone tyres did the US team use in 1997 & the Jan de Groot team?
And what Dunlop tyres did the Roger DeCoster Suzuki team use in 2000? I know Albertyn used D756 in '99..
Pit Row
This guy seems be selling a lot of parts for these later 90's KX's...he also has some Magnesium covers for a little under $900.
Don't worry, I have all these parts already.
I vote for Emig replica.
Another BIG vote here for the Emig build... One of the greatest looking factory bikes ever!
Not doubt the Tortelli bike was cool but looks wise, for me, aren't even close to the clean Emig factory look in 97.
