I have a brand new Dunlop K990 21" front knobby tire. It is a sand/mud tire that was very popular in the late 80's and early 90's when I raced in Florida on sand tracks. I have had this tire stored in a climate controlled room for like 20 years. The tire still looks brand new, no cracks, or signs of damage from age. I am thinking of using it on my 2005 Yamaha YZ-125 for woods/trail riding only. Should I use this tire? Anybody else ever done this or have an opinion on using it.

I used to run those tires....if you use that tire in anything but sand it will come apart in short order, especially being that old. They did not cross over into intermediate dirt very well when they were new! IMO

I'm sure you can sell that tire for good money to someone that is doing a perfectionistic showroom restoration.

Yes, sell it and buy a new fresh tire. Help yourself and someone else.
