I recently restored an '82 RM465, but need some new tires. Any suggestions on what to get that would be similar to OEM from '82? I believe these came with Bridgestone M23 140/80-18 and M33 100/80-21, with maybe Dunlop and IRC options. I prefer intermediate to hard terrain.

Thanks.

Also looking for sources on a repro VIN tag for the frame as the original one couldn't be saved.

I used Bridgestone 403/404 combo on many of my restores, excellent intermediate tires.unfortunetly they are no longer made, but you may still be able to find a some from the mail order shops.

Are you looking to make the bike as stock as it was when it was new or do you plan to ride and race it? Bridgestone have an X30 that replaced the M403 & 404 and they are excellent tires but if you are looking to make it OG and not ride it I have an NOS M33 front and an NOS M22 rear that I would be willing to sell, the M23 was a front but that bike may have came with an M32 on the rear which looks similar to an M22.

Thanks guys. Vmx3 - I'm mostly looking to restore it to stock as much as possible and only break it out on occasion - no racing. The '83 RM500 came with M33 front (100/80-21) and M32 rear (140/80-18), so an '82 RM465 probably came with similar Bridgestones. If you have these or approximate sizes can you please shoot me a message with sizes and the price?

Also, I found a source for the VIN decal.
