They only raced against each other once at the 1978 Motocross des Nations in Gaildorf, [b]Germany.
Direct head to head match-up on similar Yamaha OW open bikes.

Mikkola won both motos that day. Came from behind passed Hannah in both Motos.

Well the backstory on how those two motorcycles ended up in my trailer three weeks ago in Chicago is that I was fortunate enough to be involved in the fundraising banquet for the international motocross Museum in Chicago. And I was on the crew that was helping transport the bikes to and from the fundraising banquet. I had these motorcycles in my trailer and several other famous motorcycles from various ex-champions In motocross history..including Roger decosters bikes.
