The Shop
DJ
That guy sold the bike less than a year later for a profit.
I know Shae very well. He is very close friend of mine.
Nine1seven bought an 02 PC 125 from me that was one of Shae;s bikes. The MSO for that bike is still registered to Pro Circuit.
I will discuss who purchased the bike. Shae and I are trying to get it back for him.
Enjoy it!!
Congrats, 2 sweet bikes you have...
Great bike, nice find.
Then all you are going to hear on this place is the sound of crickets, Totenkopf.
A '90 bike's a quarter of a century old now!
I have seen the number plate you're looking for, I remember having trouble finding it back in 05 and I watned it because I saw them with them. I think it was euro region part.
Pit Row
I bought it for 4K. It turned out to be a good deal as the Ti hardware that was on it would cost nearly that much and there was a lot of factory stuff you would probably never see again such as the works transmission and internal engine Titanium, YMC Clamps, etc .
I called around trying to find a match to the Ti that was on it, and after talking to the Yamaha of Troy guy where this bike came from, I found out that it was factory Yamaha Ti that was made in Japan. YOT didn't use Ti Linkage bolts, shock spring and a few other bits for some reason back in 2005. I wanted to see how light I could make this bike, so I replaced anything steel with Ti or aluminum. Linkage bolts, motor mounts, brake hanger bolts, peg pins, sprocket nuts and washers to go with the Ti sprocket bolts that were already there, any and all the little stuff Mettec had made for YZs. It cost an additional $800 for all that. Even the little stuff such as the crossbar bolts on the Renthal twin walls are now Ti.
For example, here's the YMC billet oversize front brake carrier. I replaced the steel caliper pins with Ti
Mettec heads have a rounded dish that doesn't match YMC Titanium so I used an end mill on the lathe to make it the same.
This is that big old bolt the rear caliper slides on before and after. Looks the same as the rest of the Ti now.
I'll go through my pics for more to share with you guys.
Cheers,
DJ

Here's the the forks before being rebuilt. Kashima fork tubes, Gold Ti Nitride lowers, anodized lugs. I'm not going to use the carbon sub tanks but rather use the correct fork caps they used in 2005. I pressed the stem out of the works camps to clean them up and replace the bearings. More on that later....
Two piece shock body and Ti Spring
