Hello, I am not having much luck finding any pics of the TUF. Racing KX's. Can anyone help me out? I'm planning on going that route with my 500.

I don't have any 500 stuff, but here is a couple 1988/89 KX 125 TUF shroud's I have, maybe it will help you see what they look like.

I have gone the FB route but there hasn't been much luck. Mainly looking for some ideas for this bike. I'll be running the shroud graphics in the first post with an aluminum tank. I want to mess around with the back half of this bike. Has anyone grafted a '92+ KX 250 sub frame to their 500?

Thanks for the info, I have seen that mod in person on a few bikes. I'm thinking about running an entire back half from a '92/'93 KX 250. I'll need to get a sub frame to mock up the project. I know it will not be a plug and play but I have plenty of time.

Opinions please. Should I put my shroud graphics shown above on my NOS purple shrouds or buy a set of green UFO shrouds? This bike will be running an aluminum tank and an NOS purple seat. Thanks

TUF still has some NOS orange fork guards in stock from their racing team. Give them a call if you are interested.

My opinion. With the trick aluminum tank I'd go with green shrouds. But you wouldn't be wrong either way.

I have an '06 KX250F front end for the 500 now. Lower bearing is the same size but unfortunately no company makes a bearing with the correct dimensions that I need for the top. EMIG Racing made me a stem and a bushing to retain the KX500 bearings with the '06 clamp. When it arrived, it was undersize and did not stay in the lower clamp. I was told that there were two diameters that were used on the newer KXF stuff. No big deal, should have the stem and clamp back in a day or two.

I run green shrouds on my EML KX 500 sidecar with an alloy tank built to KX 250 spec, thought this picture might help give you an idea of the alloy/green look.
Interested to see the 250 subframe look.

Im not a fan of switching the fenders. It looks like a fat chick going from sweat pants to wearing a hot skirt. It just doesnt work.

Purple looks nice with the Alloy.... Do you know the history of the tank, you painting or polishing?
Mine looks awesome on a sunny Sunday morning but my flo yellow shift pant knees not so much on a Sunday evening....

If all goes as planned Sidecar, this weekend it will be rolling with its new KXF front end and I'll do some mock up work for the steering stop.

I'm not sure if I'd sell them? I have the NOS shrouds, tank and seat all in purple. Let me dig around, I may have an extra set.

I ended up with both Alan King's Tuf KX 500's from '86 and '87 if you want to know more about those.......

I want a purple set of shrouds,nos or in nice condition, and im auctally looking for a tank too, i have a purple 1996 oem kx 500 tank in nice shape, but a NOS OEM would be reeally nice to have, but shrouds is what im desperate for, have been searching for them for 2,5 years now. I have a 1994 NOS seat but would like to buy a ufo NOS purple rear fender for the k5 too. Smile

Here are a few more pictures of the KX as well as a bit of the progress from last night.

Then new clamp is no where near close as far as the steering stop goes. I'll need this for reference.


The new seat fits better at the top of the tank than this original.



Just a picture of the left side. The shrouds have a bit of a gap at the top. I may have to mess with the radiator mounts a bit to try and tuck them in?

I have not come across another set of purple shrouds, give me a day or two and I'll decide on just selling you my one set that I have for sure. Think you may want my NOS tank as well? I won't be parting with the NOS purple seat though.
