So I just saw that this bike even existed and I have a few questions. Is it a sleeved down 250? Different head on the 125 engine? Anyone have experience riding one? What would it be like with a little porting?

I was a HUGE fan of the early 90's RM 125s for woods racing. I always thought the 125 frame with a 200cc engine would be the ultimate eastern woods bike. Any possibilities of building one?

I thought this was a japan only model (made from 89 to 96 with very little changes to compete with DT's and KDX's.)
with an entirely original engine (based on the RH/RA'S 125's... but could be wrong)
Parts are getting harder to find for them...

They used the same engine in the RG200γ in 92 so i guess it is quickish

I believe the RMX was a more popular bike (they made 4 model iterations in Japan from 92 to 98.. even i own one)

Sold in Japan Europe and Canada for a bit. That engine is used in the early 90's RG125 and the one year only RG200. Also used in the TS125R and TS200R. Made from like 89 thru 95/6.

The bottom end depending on the bike was either kickstart or electric. Bottom end was unique to these models. It was pretty pretty modern design wise. The top end cylinder head power valve design.

Was copied almost exactly from the 2 stroke street sport bike the rgv250. Which I happen to own one.
Power valve design is very similar to the rmx 250's but it's electronically controlled.
The most popular of these models was the RG125F aka RG125 fun. Horse power was around 29-30 to rear wheel. The 200 is nothing more than a bigger bore. And a few other things like slightly bigger carb different cdi.

Rg125's still have a cult following in euro/UK. But parts are getting harder to find now. If Suzuki would have branded it an rmx it might have been somewhat successful. But it's suspension and brakes were not as good as the 250's.

If you really wanted to build one search on yahoo auctions japan for parts. Just search for ts200. In Europe because of licensing laws the 125 is probably more prevalent.

There's also a kdx125 from the early 90's.

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks. One more reason to be scouring yahoo jp. auctions

I bought one, not running. They have a terrible PV design, a strange 3 piece sliding system with a floating pin. They fail and the results are not pretty, (based on my research on various forums) I ended up fabricating 2 new pv pieces and boring it over 2 sizes and used an artic cat 600 piston. ( engines made by suzook). Non plated bore.
I have read on another forum that the same artic cat 600 cylinder can be swapped into place, with some light modifications.
Other projects came in putting this thing aside. Mine is a canadian 1991 kicker model ( i did not know there was an e start version)
Pretty neat bike, me thinks its suzukis answer to the DT200 which is a pretty good bike if i recall. This ts has a pretty good demand in ontario? Sought after for some crazy reason.
The rmx 50, theres another gem id like to see! Asia only model i would think.

The TS200R was sold in Australia in the early to mid 90's too. More of a road/trail bike than a hardcore enduro racer but i know people did race them.
