I know Suzuki ran the VM32mm carb on their RM125 from 76-82 before switching over to the TM34 on the new 83 reed valve only motor. A popular mod from all the major tuners was to bolt on a VM34 but I can't seem to find any specs on them. Anybody know what FMF/DG/LOP ran in there 34mm carbs?

I'm building a 77 RM125B for a buddy and found the stock carb is junk as it looks like mouse piss got to the bell and it doesn't look salvageable. I'm thinking of going VM34 but don't know how I should set it up. The motor will be mostly stock other than boyesen reeds and I'll be blueprinted the motor since I have to rebuild the bottom and top end.

I also have been looking for some info on setting up a TM34 on this 82. From what I was told once you find the right needle for your motor they are pretty decent carbs. I think the VM and TM uses the same common needle and will inter change. If anyone is pretty good with setting up the TM34 on these old RM's it will probably help both of us. I know the stock 84 RM 125 TM34 needle is a 6EP05-3. That later aftermarket replacement TM34 uses a 5FP17 needle. The Mikuni's are Greek to me. What are some of the needles you guys are running when using these older style carbs.

R&D racing used to bore the OEM carb out to 35mm. I had this mod and a ported cylinder on my 82 RM125 and it was an absolute rocket!

I remember the bowl being really close to the case. Be careful that your 34 doesn't hit. Your bike is looking good
Take the next size drill bit and run it through the petcock
Or use a yz petcock if it fits
