Suzuki RM-125N, 1992 model restoration project, started 27.1.2015. It's been my lifelong dream to restore the 'USA' -version of the bike. Enjoy the restoration project.

Great job so far!

I have a soft spot for this era of RM - I was riding a '92 DS80 at the time!

Same here. I used to own 1990 model RM-125 but always wanted 1992 model.

Yes, I managed to find 1992 model Arrow pipe that was brand new. Extremely rare find. Smile

I can assure you that it was pretty time consuming but very interesting hunt at the same time. The seat cover came from Italy, rad decals from UK (EVO MX), number plate and rear fender graphics from Sweden. Thank you Google. Smile

Still to come, all new plastics (except tank).

Been there, done that, bro. I bought stuff for my KX from every english speaking Ebay site there is. People say "Oh, but it's all about the hunt." ...b.s. That honeymoon was over in a few days. I prob spent $1000 just in shipping costs over 3 years.

At least you have the hard stuff to find. It was smart to get those parts asap.

That engine and the project in general looks almost identical. You've managed to find the front sprocket cover. I've noticed that in almost all older mx bikes these are the one parts that are missing. Should find one for my project.

From where did you manage to find those foot pegs? Looks awesome.

The sprocket cover was with this bike, with the case guard in good shape still. Fresh coat of duplicolor engine paint matches up well. I used hammered finish black of a few covers.
The footpegs are cheap cast steel off ebay $22.

Very nice pipe you have.

Looking good dude. BTW: the sprocket cover and case saver are still available from Suzuki. They cross fit many years, inexpensive too.

G'day Slingshot,

Wow! Mate, very impressed with your build. I'm a big fan of the 1992 RM & RMX series.
The pipe looks awesome, and is going to look too good to ride when you're finished!

I'm currently working on a 1992 RM80N (E24 Version) restoration.
Could you tell me where in Sweden you sourced the Graphics?

I've been getting some re-produced here in Australia, and getting pretty close results.
But sourcing NOS will be easier and cheaper.

Any Links or sites you could advise please?

Cheers,

Dan.
