My friend bought one to race in the vintage class and I hook him up at my shop. We scout buy and sell sites all the time for parts and I’ve been having a hell of a time trying to learn these bikes.
-94-95 share the same exhaust, 97-98 won’t work?
-Suspension was revised/changed in 95 and continued to 98?
-Bodywork between 94-98 should all be the same correct?
-98 had a new cylinder, Not compatible with prior years? I know CRs could run 94 or so cylinders on the newer RC valve motors.
-Crank was specific for the 94? How about the rest of the bottom end? Would a 97-98 bottom end work in a 94? Cranks are hard to find for this bike, only found connecting rod kits
-Anything else I need to know about these bikes?

94-95 43mm KYB, midvalve in 95. 96-98 46mm KYB. 3 bolt front number plate 94-95
New rear suspension, brake carrier 97-98.
Wider pegs 97-98
Send the crank to Mr Crankshaft, they use Japanese rod kits.
Powervalves can be found on FB, search: Kawasaki KIPS.
Besides the front plate, all plastics, tanks and seats swap 125/250. Air duct might be larger on the 250, box still the same.
Kawasaki changed part numbers if ignition curve, porting or designs (etc) are different, doesnt mean the part wont fit.
Rear caliper changed in 96.
