Say hello to the new guy.. '79 KTM GS80 250cc Enduro

Wasn't really in the market for one, but I do have 2000s, 90s, an d 80s KTM's, so when this '79 250 enduro popped up on CL for CHEAP CHEAP and only a few miles from my house, I knew it was meant to be. Very well sorted machine (AHRMA ready) with mostly DC Plastics, but also came with the MX tank, a DC tank skin, graphics in the wrapping still, and a bunch of extra parts including a spare motor (blown top end), Preston Petty head light, and even the title and original manuals. Would love to get some seat time on it and run it in a vintage enduro race, like the Carolina White Lightning.

At a $1200 buy in, I'm sure not losing any sleep over this impulse buy

All that for 1200.00 -- good deal. You didn't mention about if it was running condition though. How's it run? It was a very good bike back in the day.

Looks solid. Always thought the 79 and 80 KTM were some of the best looking bikes. Never rode one but they just look right.

Runs perfect! Guy I bought it from always kept it stored with the gas drained out, which is what I'm doing too. Definitely helps keep the Bing happy, plus greatly reduces further dulling of the plastic tank

Hey there!
I also have the same bike and was wondering if you had any extra parts and if you were willing to sell them?
Thanks

Sorry, sold all the extra parts at Mid-Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days this summer... in fact, even sold the entire bike a couple months ago. If you are in desperate need of something, https://www.enduroklassiker.at/ is the go-to for most parts. Not cheap, but Andre likely has what you need. Aside from there; not sure if you do the Facebook thing; but there are several Vintage KTM groups on there with a ton of awesome folks who can possibly help you out
