When I took the rear wheel off of this thing it seemed like the swingarm spread apart when I loosened the nut. The reason was because there was no brake side outer spacer. This is another part that is no longer available. I was hoping someone could help me out with the thickness of this spacer? I have the means to fab one if I knew how thick to make it.
It's likely that a dealer has one on the shelf somewhere. Most Suzuki dealers are connected to a inventory database, and my local Suzuki parts man has found many discontinued parts for me through this database.

Well

half way into this project I found an 84 RM250. Now I'm full speed ahead on trying to get them both finished.

Bought a 1983 and a 1982 RM 250 last week. The 1983 is complete, but needs love. The 1982 is for parts only.

Found a complete race ready 1983 RM 250 yesterday, so I am parting out both the the other RM's I bought last week.

email me if you need any parts rf145 at aol dot com

Back in the day (82,83,84), the "hot ticket" for rm250 hop ups was to put an rm80 black box or complete ignition on the 250. I had numerous dirt bike mags from those years and every one replaced the 250 electronics with the 80's. Pre-3d mapped ignitions can pretty much be swapped around from brand to brand with a schematic, know how, and a little bravery about messing up (sometimes)expensive parts. If the Cdi boxes weren't fused together, they can literally be repaired with about $3 worth of parts.

Well it's complete, sort of lol.

I really didn't have time to do a restore or even a rebuild. New bearings, brakes, plastic, seat, levers, piston, clutch, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. We took it out for its first ride and the brake arm broke which mangled the brake engagement arm and the new rear brake cable I purchased for it. back to work!
