Looks like an 80 RM250. 79 had boxy fenders and 81 was the first year of the full floater.

Seat cover say 1979
When i look up a 79 the logo on the seat is yellow. Maybe they are faded white like that. Im thinkin maybe some previous owner wanted it to look newer, hence the acerbis fenders and blue frame. Thanks for your help!!

Definitely 79 or 80. The swingarm chain buffer will tell the story. If it's a chain roller/ wheel on top of the arm it"s a 79, if it has a modern style chain buffer pad it"s an 80. Also, The 79 had the spring tension lower chain roller setup vs the 80"s modern style roller wheel. Can't go by the fenders as many replaced the Art Deco style 79 fenders with aftermarket units. In any event, they are great bikes, with tons of parts availibility... Look up 79 rm 250 on this site for more info than anyone would ever need!

Photo of my 79, thought it would show the upper swingarm roller wheel but it doesn't. The lower spring loaded unti has been replaced with a modern style roller wheel......
