Yes, it is snow... This is the upper desert, (Adelanto, Ca.) I remember this day. I remember having breakfast at a local restaurant, before the start. I was eight years old.

District 37 was the happening group way back then! It didn't matter if it was Desert, Grand Prixs, or Scrambles they had the turn out and great racing. The biggest difference back then is almost everyone belonged to a Motorcycle Club so you could bench race during the week also. Even the Dirt Track Pro's like Dallas Baker, Dave Aldana & Rich Thorwalson were club members. The clubs were the ones putting on the races back then.

My older brother used to venture out to Adelanto back in the early '70's to race TT. Sprockets Park in Bakersfield, district 35 ,was home for us.

Yeah, D-37, is a fraction of what it was back in the late 60, 70's and early 80s.

I ran with San Gabriel Valley, Motorcycle Club (S.G.V.M.C.)...

My father, was the one of the creators of the "Barstow to Vegas" Hare & Hound....

I race TT in the late 60s, then Desert until 1975, whe I learned about GPs, and have only raced a hand full of Desert events since my first GP.
