Ohlins Question

How hard is it to separate the shock body from the shock "head" on a 28 yer old Ohlins single shock? My plan is to refinish the shock body.

lots of heat should break the locktite loose
It works when I rebuild 15 year old shocks for BMW'S

heat and a good snap on strap wrench i did some mid 80s yamahas like that came rite apart
