New Rules 2020 Unadilla Rewind

Rumor has it this year's Rewind is run by ACR instead of the AHRMA. ACR a great group. Not as stuck on rules as AHRMA. However when it comes to VMX someone isn't going to be happy. The sport grew so fast that it's impossible to have a class for every year bike

So this year there is a Pre 78 class and a Vintage 80s class. There's a wide range of bikes that fit those years. I'm not complaining. I'm glad there's still a event at Unadilla for old bikes and old men.
The guys on 83 bikes that had issue with my disc on my 83 KX can focus thier energies on the guy with the 89 RM125 with dual discs,usd forks and a pv now
I wonder why the switch. From what I saw, the event was run flawless over the years. Most everyone was happy and had fun.
Racing or spectating, I love that weekend more than Christmas

I think it will only get better with ACR running the event vs Ahrma. ACR does a good job. Personally I don’t care who Rides what, I just like seeing & riding the old bikes at that track.

It’s also an Ahrma regional race, I’m pretty sure there will be Ahrma classes too!

Small nit. 89 RM 125 had conventional forks. Wink

Traditional ACR classes can be a little much since they tend to group by decades but it should be a great time regardless!

You are right! I had to check. I didn't remember them having conventional forks. I think those were my favorite looking RMs

The 89' RM250 had upside down forks. As did the 89 CR250, and the 89' YZ 250 and 125.

Its good that it looks like it will be a good event again, hoping to get over to do the Promoter Classes again. Was a great time for sure.

Yeah,sorry that's what I was trying to point out. Of all the Japanese manufacturers that year to jump on the upside-down fork bandwagon, only the RM125, KX125, and KX250 stood ground with the conventionals. And actually, the KX lineup only had conventionals in the USA.

ACR and AHRMA have gotten together before. At least once at Budds Creek. ACR is good people.

Well listening to this makes me less nervous about pulling the pin on coming again.

As a UK guy who is used to things being organised, the only thing I struggled with was nobody even knowing what the race order was till 30 mins before we started.. Then they run all the AHRMA stuff first , and then all the promotor classes, so you sit about for hours , and have 3 races out of 6.. then the next day its the same again, except they wised up and ran the promoter classes first , so we had less time to sit about.

Loved the grass track, nice way to learn a loaner bike.

Might try an pick up another class, races are real short , want to get my money's worth .

Phil, I have raced & gone to open practices run by ACR, They do a very good job. I think it will only get better with their involvement.
