I've got Ward's race bike from that year, pretty sure I have the seat cover, and some of the plastic. I'll look and let you know.

I spoke to Clark the other day... I'll relay this message over to him. His son Parker is pretty involved with the business and I'm sure if he reads the email he will pass it over to his dad or mom to follow up.
I've lived near Larry the past 30 or so years, and over the years we've ridden together quite a bit. A few years ago he stopped by, and we were talking he asked me about some of the vintage bikes I had, and basically asked why I'd never inquired about his. I explained that in 30 years it was the only bike I'd known him to keep, and seeing as how he finished second to McGrath that year figured it had sentimental value. He said no not really, and the next time I saw him he brought it with him and we worked out a deal on it. It's got a full works Yamaha frame and engine with Noleen suspension and pipe. He raced it in the first 6 rounds of sx, and they gave him a fresh one after that so this one became the practice bike. At the end of the season he had exceeded their expectations and I don't think they could cover all they owed him so he kept the bike. Story I was told was McCarty asked to get it back but when Larry explained the situation he basically said hey you deserve it so keep it. I'm out of town at the moment, but will take more photos of it when I get home.
Thanks for sharing that story, I"ve been a fan of Ward ever since I seen him win a moto at Southwick when he was on a Honda support ride #971 I think. More photos would be great, should also help Bradpr32 with his build. I bet Ward still hauls the Mail on an MX bike!

If it was me it would have to be a ward replica he used to hang out with my older sister. I had no idea he was a local pro then I think he had a kx80 at my house in snohomish. I think my sister was showing off and jumped her xr75 and landed on me on my jr50 I don't remember anything after that for a bit. I was only 7 it was like '85.

Hello, could you please tell me if Larry Wards' bike has Noleen "cast" into the Cylinder Head. Thanks sincerely.
Call PWR Radiators in Lake Elsinore,ca talk to Clint Barry he was Larry's mechanic that year.
Thanks mate , no I don't have the mag ...
Thankfully I've had a great response from people & pics . Hanging to get stuck into the chassis
So I've collected the bike remains ... I owned this thing years ago .. LOTS of things now missing but I'm keen to get stuck in !

The year that Sizzler was sponsoring Larry Ward in Supercross my old motocross buddy and college room mate, his wife and I decided we would go out of our way to eat at the Sizzler in Everett WA, before heading down to the Seattle Supercross at the Kingdome. We wanted to give them our business since they were investing in Supercross and our local hero Larry Ward. So we go there and the Everett Sizzler place had gone out of business, so we got Thai food instead. But it was kind of ironic that the Sizzler closest to Larry Wards home in Snohomish WA had gone tits up.
