Hi Guys....newbie here. Just bought a 1977 RE250. It starts and idles fine...but when I put it in gear and take off it seems to have a dead spot on the throttle. On level ground I can run the bike (but not very well). But once I head up a hill it loses power and stalls. Like it is getting too much gas or too little. I am not the most mechanical guy in the world and so am looking for some help. I just bought the bike and it has been refreshed cosmetically, looks great, starts right up but then I get into this bogging thing. After it stalls it starts right up again, but no power to go up the hill.
Any thoughts? Thanks Doug

That is the place to start. While cleaning thoroughly check for worn parts in the carb also.
