This MX crack is pulling me back in. I'm 59, been single again for 3 years and my last ride was in 2006.
(RM450) The plan was to buy a 125 for shits and giggles but I ran across a Sweet 07 Rm250 for $2400 and
it's calling me hard. I'm in shape , 6'3 200 and have had quite a few 250's over the years so I know that would probably be the best size for me but just thinking about wringing the neck of a 125 is what brought me back to this place. Any opinions would be appreciated.

As I get older (just turned 50) I'm just happy to be out there still riding. I really don't care how fast I am. At this point what does it matter? If a 125 makes you smile every time you wring its neck than go for it!!!

In '16 I bought a '17 tc250,,,only cause I heard some bad about the 125s tranny reliability. Last summer I got the 18 TC125 feeling good about the bugs being worked out at factory. The new 125s are real real real strong like 40 hp! Night and day faster than my 04 rm125 I last had. If I was 200 lbs a new 18 KTM or Husky or tricked up newer YZ125 would be fine....If not,,,250 2 stroke like the KTM or Husky. I enjoy the 125 more. We have a 125 class for old farts and it's a fun time.

^^^^This right here. If you have the means, why not grab one of each?

Thanks for the replies. One bike will have to do. That 250 got snatched up before I could get to it...Damn. Guess I'll keep my eyes open . Something will come along I'm sure. I'll keep riding my Devinci until then.

I am 56 years old and have absolutely loved riding my 2005 Yamaha YZ-125 for the last 13 years. It is so light, very fast, easy to start, very reliable, and it is the best motorcycle I have ever owned out of many motorcycles over the years. I will never sell it, it is a keeper, and I have done a lot of modifications to mine to make it perfect for wfo4ever. Parts and accessories are inexpensive and easy to get on line or at your local Yamaha dealership. There are a lot more Yamaha dealers across the country than the other orange and white brands. My 2005 YZ-125 is all I need to get my shits and giggles, and I am smiling and having a blast every time I ride it. The best part is riding WFO on my YZ-125 and passing people on their bigger bikes is priceless.

Ha, its fun to ride a buck' n quarter for sure. Been racing my 97 CR against modern bikes in the senior class and if I don't make too many mistakes I can hang in there on it. I get a lot of thumbs up from others when I pull up on it. If I can get a little more HP and some better suspension on it who knows... I do know I get twice the workout keeping it on the pipe versus goofing off on a 450!
