Hope to get it painted this weekend and tie up a few loose ends. My first nice bike was a 77B and I've been wanting a nice one back for years. This one has been about a 2 month restoration because I've been working on 3 other bikes at the same time. I found a 80T parts doaner bike for cheap for the suspension swap and it was on like Gangbusters

Very nicely done! How are you connecting the rear brake?

I've got one in the on-deck circle right now behind my '87 CR250.

Never rode or owned one, but when they came out the '76 CR125 I was riding at the time sure looked old!

I have the full floating bracket welded to the frame already, I'm waiting on the material any day now to build a custom torque link with a hiem joint on the end. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to go 77 style full cable with another bracket bolted to the inner swingarm or 80 style bare cable

Nice job ! Love the tanks on your kitchen counter hahah !
I have an 80 390 Husky on deck too, a few loose ends as well but it will be my Diamond Dons race bike. It has 85 forks and double leading brake and wheels and shortened 83 ITC Piggybacks on a C&J arm. I loved these bikes back in the day, this one should be even nicer. Black fenders are on the way out, new white ones on the way as well

LOVE IT ! We didn't get many on that generation Husky up here in Canada, at least in my area.
To be honest I've never seen one up close in running condition. Then again I don't get out much haha !
Yes do the white fenders, the modern Italian Husky's had that same look. Red or black tank / white fenders.
I don't care for the blue / yellow ones as much.

Yeah I never cared for the looks of the white blue huskies either although I'm sure they were great bikes with a few more modern upgrades. It just have to have the polished side tank to be a Husky in my brain

Thanks guys, this site has been kinda cold to me in the past, even though I've been a long time on looker and usually a low profile. I respect a lot of guys that really lived the dream back in that day. My parents let me have a 77 RM but only for trail riding and was grounded for life for RACING. I just busted out early and going back in time to the good Ole days when I was sneaking out my RM "For trail rides until I got busted in the Emergency Room with a 360 swivel knee. So much for that toy, Got it back better than I ever dreamed of and plenty more that i always wanted now

I'm building 82 RM at the moment, I seem to be collecting old dirt bikes in pairs, 2 Huskies, 2 Maicos as now 2 RMs. Hopefully I can stop with these and not go for a Full House or Royal Flush

Looks great, i just got hold of a RM125, the first of the plastic tank models with a alloy swingarm, think it's a 80 model.

78 is first plastic tank and aluminum arm but pretty close to 77, rear hub is updated also. Mine has the 80 swingarm shocks and bigger longer 38mm forks instead of 36mm

Always loved the look of the late 70s early 80s RMs. So much so that a RM400 is on my bucket list.

Great job!
