Came across a lot of used parts for this bike. Don't know if there is much of a market for it but thought I'd ask anyway. Frames, wheels, forks, motor stuff, plastic etc. I'll just Ebay it all if no one is interested.

Always seemed interesting to me...but Honda must have built way too many 89 CR 80s or they didn't sell.
Maybe it was just in the northwest but every Honda shop had 89 CR 80s on the floor for years. I saved up $1650
in 91 and had the choice between a new 89 Honda or Kawasaki....went with the KX for the rear disc.

Great motors. Absolutely ripped up top. Horrendously underdamped and undersprung stock.
Basically the same engine as a CR85. Untouchable if you could keep it on the pipe.

Crappy cheap steel swingarm. Basically the same bike from 1988 to 1995. It got a rear disc somewhere along the way, otherwise BNG.

Source: best friend rode CR80s back in the day.

That's funny. I'm from Sacramento CA. I was 12 years old when the 1990 kx80 big wheel came out. My dad tried to talk me into the left-over/discounted 89 CR80. I went with the kx as well.

What kind of shape is the plastic in? I'm in the middle of a restoration on a 91 CR80 but doing a sort of a retro/David Bailey look to it and could use some descent plastic pieces.

I'm hopefully picking up what looks to be a pretty original 87 tonight. Please keep an eye on your thread. Know I need a top end for starters. Have done zero cross reference at this point. Thanks, Mark
